I was employed at JD sports straight from graduating from university, job role as follows: • Worked within a small creative team creating, developing and delivering product for the largest range and most successful of JD own brand – Mckenzie Mens. • Developing across various product categories from outerwear, swimwear, loungewear, tees and polos. Working closely with buyer from initial mood boards/pantone colour palettes to create and continually push product with innovative fits, fabrics and styling details. • Key role in product development process from prototype to production sample. Creating and issuing all tech packs including size charts, BOMs and fit/construction comments. Developing extensive knowledge on garment construction, fabrics, and print techniques, also possessing a greater understanding of production and factory processes. • Organised fit sessions across own brand department. Led and assisted fitting meetings with buyer and designer to achieve their vision for the brand whilst maintaining well fitting, practical garments. • Solely managed the lab dip process and trim submissions. Developing strong commercial awareness and up kept high quality standards for the brand. Experience spanning across various trims from hangtags, zippers, pullers, branding, prints, taping etc. • Developed strong and successful working relationships with all Far East suppliers, possessing fantastic face to face communication as well as professional email etiquette. • Responsible for managing and complying test reports, care labels and barcodes. Keeping to a timely process in order to maintain the critical path. • Assisted with cost negotiation and calculating BIMs/landed cost. As part of my university sandwich degree I completed a year’s work placement in London, working as a product developer for Wiggle’s own brand cycling label dhb. • Worked across design, development, buying and merchandising teams to understand and complete the life cycle of a product to an e-commerce platform. Quick and efficient team member who can be relied upon at all times with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Responsible for the management and development of the entire accessories department. Communicated on a daily basis with overseas suppliers developing strong working relationships. • Worked to a high pressure critical path to meet deadlines and ensure products were produced and delivered on time. • Detailed knowledge of garment construction, print techniques, researching and developing trims and fabrics. A weeks long volunteered internship during London Fashion Week 2015. Experienced many aspects to London fashion week, from model fittings, working behind the catwalk show and general admin and hospitality roles for the Sass and Bide team.
