Designed 600 Watt Brushless DC Motor Controller, using a 400 Volt Switch-Mode Power Supply, Custom Wound Transformer, Isolated RS-485, CAN-Bus, I2C Interfaces. Designed/Troubleshooted other small circuits/PCB's for TLS (Tether Management System).
Programmed Embedded Firmware on Microchip 8 and 16 Bit families including 16F, 18F and 24F devices. Electronics integrated Pan, Tilt, Zoom, Focus camera systems using low light cameras and thermal cameras from Axsys Technologies and Flir. Firmware and Hardware Engineer on a Freescale Coldfire based Project running Linux and providing Internet Connection out at sea for the Marine Industry. System combine two satellite networks, Marine BGAN and DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) to create an end product which has a small antenna footprint, high speed, low bandwidth cost and provides Internet access anywhere in the world. Wrote boot code and linux boot-strap in assembly language and C for Coldfire Processor. Created Linux Distribution and File System for Coldfire MFC5485. Boot code included TCP/IP stack and ability to remote update Linux OS. Wrote Verilog for Altera FPGA decode of bit stream of DVB. Performed electronic run-up of System Board which included GPS, BGAN and DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) integration to provide high-speed, low cost, wireless internet connection, with small antenna footprint for Luxury Yachts any where in the world. Worked closely with Ray Marine to meet their NMEA 2000, CAN Bus based integration requirements.
