I manage the Signals organization which is the Applied Machine Learning group at Twitter Cortex. Twitter Cortex is Twitter's central machine learning organization. We focus on applying machine learning to solve problems in Natural Language Processing, Computer vision, Topic modeling, Knowledge Graphs, user location and other domains to build features that are valuable to customers for various Twitter experiences. We're hiring modelers, developers and ML managers with expertise in NLP, computer vision and machine learning to help build new models and systems to apply machine learning to real-world problems at scale.

I manage the Speech Recognition Core Technologies organization for Alexa which consists of teams of scientists and developers that work on the speech engine and on machine learning for pronunciation, text transformation and parts of the language model. We also focus on advancing the state of the art in deep learning technologies for Alexa.

I manage the engineering organization responsible for speech recognition for Amazon Alexa. We're hiring! I'm looking for managers and developers at various levels of experience and also strong dev managers, technical program managers and a principal product manager to join us in Cambridge, MA and Santa Clara, CA with experience in one or more of machine learning, graph search or other algorithms, systems software development, system design and architecture for performance optimization and scaling, and strong C/C++ software development experience.

Managed 2 other PMs and drove application automation product strategy at VMware. • Responsible for product strategy, new product definition and for definition and execution of the majority of features in VMware's flagship cloud automation product in 2015.

Independently owned roadmap of the virtual machine platform which is the core of our company’s flagship product, vSphere.

Delivered a core part of VMware’s hypervisor that’s responsible for virtualizing storage, BIOS and other devices. Kickstarted major new features outside of my team’s charter such as Replay Debuging and Virtual Asserts and built a dotted line team of senior engineers from the ground up to go deliver these with a very aggressive timeline.

Engineering owner for all virtualization platform features across 3 consumer products (Workstation, Server and Fusion). Coordinated with other R&D managers and delivered over 75 substantial features that accounted for more than half the features of the above product releases.

• Independently designed and implemented a large network file system for Windows • With one other engineer, designed and implemented the fundamental capability of inter virtual machine communication using shared memory and packet exchange. Wrote a new virtual device and device drivers for this. • Tech lead for my team of over 15 engineers that was responsible for the VMware software running inside virtual machines in the kernel and at the user level.

Developed Perl and MySQL application to manage registering new users with various IT and HR systems.

Led teams for research work at Tata Infotech and worked in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay on network security products.
