As the VP of Multi Channel Experience at M.Gemi I was in charge of the convergence between both physical and online retail. As part of this position I was in charge of all physical retail experiences of the M.Gemi brand (stores, pop-ups, shop-in-shops, etc) and was tasked with creating the future of commerce for the company. As part of this effort I was integral in helping M.Gemi creating a true omni-channel experience for our clients both online and off. We aimed to accomplish this goal using new POS and data gathering technologies as well as unique in-store experiences and marketing focused on creating multi-channel customers.
Acustom is a menswear brand that uses proprietary technology and 3d body scanners to custom create clothing for men. I was CEO of Acustom Apparel from it's founding in June 2011 until September 2016 when I sold Acustom to one of our manufacturing suppliers. Acustom innovated both across the types of products that could be custom made but also upon what we perceived as an outdated and stale retail model. We realized that most men didn’t like the existing shopping experience and wanted something more interactive and personal, with fewer trips to the changing room. Traditional retail is also challenged due to large stores risking millions in inventory, hoping people will purchase their latest designs. At Acustom I designed a small footprint retail model where limited samples and stylists helped clients design and customize a wide variety of menswear. All products were paid for upfront and manufactured directly for the client. Highlights: • Raised over $3m from investment groups as well as private investors through multiple rounds • Designed, sourced and launched the first bespoke (fully custom) denim product for under $200 (as compared to $1200) • Opened 4 unique retail locations, in NYC and LA with clients in 30 states and 20 countries • 132% retail sales growth and 186% online sales growth from 2015 to 2016 • Awards: Top innovator 2015 – Apparel Magazine, Winner “Best Fashion Start-up” Fashion 2.0 2014, New York Mag "Best Of" 2014, Winner Mayor Bloomberg’s Project Pop-up NYC 2012. BetaSpring Incubator class of 2011 • Press Coverage: Esquire, Details, WWD, The New York Times, WSJ, Town and Country, Fast Company, Entrepreneur, Inside-hook, Racked, BusinessWeek, NY Mag, The Verge, CNBC
