Lead the company’s charitable giving and enterprise strategies with a budget of over £4 million. Report to the Head of Sustainability Programmes. Three direct reports. • I developed and lead the charitable giving strategy in RBS. This includes developing and implementing the RBS Local Community Grants programme to distribute over £800,000 to charities and schools across the UK; setting up the Skills and Opportunities Fund to distribute £2.5 million via seven regional boards to charities, and collaborating with senior executives from all divisions in the grant making process • Created the 3 year strategic partnership with the Prince’s Trust to differentiate RBS from its competitors in enterprise and entrepreneurship and enhance the brand. The programme includes sponsorship, annual marketing and communications campaigns, and an awards programme. • Lead the department’s communications and stakeholder engagement, representing the bank at events including speeches, round tables, workshops and lobbying events • Introduced the social media programme #GivingTuesday into RBS to raise awareness internally and externally of how we support charities, volunteering and payroll giving.
