Chief Marketing Officer for RSM UK. I lead a team of communications, sales and client experience professionals covering the full spectrum of marketing and sales. The role of a modern CMO is not one that fits a static job description. Throughout my time in post I have deliberately evolved the role to try keep us ahead of our competition. Professional services firms can be slow off the mark to react to changes in the marketing and sales landscape, I am striving to break that mould. I lead a team of communications, sales and client experience professionals who are all helping to build our brand, win new work and make sure we are delivering the best experience to our clients. At RSM with the support of this fantastic team, I am driving a rapid evolution in our digital marketing capabilities and am building a martech stack that is leaning towards best in class. As part of this I led the design, build and roll out of Dynamics 365 across the business and continue to drive the enhancement of that system including integrating Marketo, Sitecore, Sales Navigator and Tracker, RSM’s proprietary data source. In 2015 I led the UK element of our global rebrand and was a part of the global marketing team involved in the overall international project. This transformed our firm overnight into a true middle market firm, with new brand positioning sitting alongside our new visual elements. We continue to push the brand through a revitalised content strategy, a digital first approach and amongst other things a unique sports sponsorship programme.
The offshore legal and fund administration world is a uniquely interesting place to be. We led our clients through the complex world of fund structuring and then administered their funds in an efficient and cost effective way. I was responsible for generating new business leads with real estate and private equity funds to provide offshore fund administration and legal services. I did this by building and maintaining relationships across the private equity and real estate community to make sure they thought of us first when launching a new fund.
After leaving the army i was looking for a grounding in sales. Where better than one of the largest recruitment firms. I operated across the alternative investment space, giving me a wealth of knowledge of hedge funds in particular. The relationship building and sales training was second to none and helped us build a successful and market leading practice.
