Lafayette Engine Facility (LEF) is a startup manufacturing site for GE Aviation's new product line, the LEAP engine. LEF is an assembly and a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. The site is structured as a teaming facility with a flat organization structure. As the HR Leader at the site, my focus was on our manpower ramp up, culture, talent development, compensation strategy, community engagement and overall site strategy.
As the Global Business Learning Leader I led the company's learning and training strategy. As the business' BLL I created, facilitated and executed company-wide leadership training and served on the General Electric's global learning strategy team.
GE’s Human Resources Leadership Program consist of three 8-month rotations that focus on business acumen development, leadership training, project execution and human capital strategy. For my first rotation I served as the HR Manager for the Global Materials Value Stream where I supported over 300 employees globally. My second rotation was in Greenville South Carolina at our Turbine Airfoil component shop where I was the LEAP production lines HR Manager. In my last rotation, I worked in Organization & Talent Development where I led our performance development strategy and company wide culture initiatives.
As a summer intern I worked on strategic HR projects. I collaborated with the HR Manager and the CFO throughout the summer. My projects included (but were not limited to) bench marking best practices to develop, implement and analyze an employee engagement survey, performing a statistical analysis of high performing departments resulting in company wide strategy for employee management, restructuring the company’s performance management assessment (PMA), constructing new talent profile database, and creating a ROI proposal that was used to recommend the adoption of a MRP system.
Led the intramural and campus recreation sports department for the university. Responsible for facility operations (pool facility, outdoor facility and recreational basketball gym) and campus fitness programming. Team consisted of 12-15 individuals made up of part time workers, student workers and contractors.
The Board of Child Care (BCC) is a nonprofit organization that serve youth and their families across Maryland, West Virginia, and D.C. BCC is a resource organization for youth facing adverse life circumstances. As a Youth Development Counselor, I was responsible for developing life skills and serve as a resource for youth. I worked with young men between the ages of 12 and 19 years old.
