Jason Green's current jobs
Currently leading a team of Senior business intelligence engineers who are building data pipelines and driving business decisions via data insights. Our team is responsible for data and insights covering the grocery supply chain from end-to-end including: item demand forecasting, vendor availability, target inventory positioning, buying, inventory lead time, health, markdowns, shrink, sales and operational planning forecasts, as well as top-line forecasting. I founded the team as a part of my charter when I joined the business in January of 2021. In our first year, we built the team from the ground up, recruiting high caliber talent from inside and outside of Amazon. Along the way, I championed new mechanisms for diversity, equity, and inclusion which helped build a highly inclusive team that, notably, leads the organization in teams of representing women in engineering. In addition to my core work of building and leading a successful team, I also took on leadership roles in sustainability and strategic planning within my organization, penning two Think Big documents (PRFAQs), developing the sustainability theme for our three-year roadmap, and leading the development of our organization’s 2021 roadmap (OP1). We're hiring BIEs, please reach out of you are interested!
Jason Green's past jobs
In my role at Amazon, I led the international expansion of the Delivery Service Partner (DSP 2.0) program, which enables entrepreneurs with little logistics experience, to start a business delivering packages for Amazon. As a principal, I was the single-threaded leader for the expansion of the program into Europe. I led scoping, bench-marking, product creation, and review with numerous partner teams (last mile tech., corporate council, labor and employment council, program implementation/management, operations, finance, transaction risk and compliance, value added services, fleet procurement, risk management, and tax), driving the product development process while ensuring alignment across stakeholders. I was ultimately the author of the document that defined our labor model, the delivery associate experience, the value-added services we would offer to our DSPs (e.g. offers for vehicles, insurance, payroll processing software, etc.), as well as the program policy contracts that enforce the program structure. These documents drove discussions and approval by senior leadership (VP up to SVP). Position highlights - Single-threaded leader for the launch of DSP 2.0 in Germany, Italy, and another country (currently in pilot). - Within the first two years of launch, these programs will be responsible for creating thousands of new businesses, tens of thousands of new jobs, and delivering nearly a billion packages to our customers. - Standardized the process by which we benchmark other players, the quality of our value-added services, our lease and insurance rates, financial models, and profitability estimates.
www.greenlight.life - Greenlight has built a complete optimization solution for shippers, carriers, and order management software. Our SmartRoute API provides comprehensive route optimization integrated into your logistics management application. SmartRoute makes use of multiple engines to insure that you get best in class optimizations that match your business constraints. Our engine not only allows for both the widest variety of variables and constraints, but also features intuitive data translation that greatly simplifies the setup process. SmartRoute is proven to reduce driver time and mileage, dramatically reduce time spent on dispatching and routing functions, and to increase customer satisfaction through greater accuracy and higher on time deliveries.
Led camera engagement for new customer acquisitions. Supported multiple projects from both the customer relationship through to the management of the engineering team. Built new engineering and supply chain within Flex which enabled the organization to pursue a new billion dollar consumer category.
After the company I co-founded in 2003 was purchased, I was retained to lead the transition to new ownership. To that end, I retained key members of the organization, continued Product Development, oversaw Camera Engineering, and led the design and development of new wearable products. Finally, I played a pivotal role in executing our intellectual property strategy. After an interview with an examiner at the USPTO, we were granted a crucial patent that gave Contour claim over one of the fundamental designs in the wearable camera space. This patent was subsequently defended, and ultimately led to a successful exit for all shareholders.
Supported the design, installation, and launch of several new digital installations (Skyhigh Selfie, and the Zoomie) with the CEO and the Consumer Experience team at the Space Needle.
As the Product Developer and Co-founder of Contour Inc, our award-winning point-of-view (POV) cameras and mobile applications led the market in quality and ratings (Amazon, iTunes, Android). We introduced several industry innovations including the first HD action camera, camera with “Instant-On” recording, 1080P action camera, and action camera with integrated GPS, Bluetooth, and mobile connection. Building the business from the ground up—from a two-man operation in a warehouse to the CTO’s office—I held numerous key positions in Product Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Camera Engineering. Additionally, I am the first-named inventor on several utility and design patents and winner of numerous design and innovation awards. In this position it was my goal to develop the best action video solutions available by applying a user-centric approach to identifying and solving real problems, then leading OEM/ODM-level engagements. As the leader of a 20-person product team, I was responsible for coordinating releases of multiple product packages and overseeing full product lifecycles from concept design, engineering, and software to production, marketing, and user experience. Additionally, I drove key feature and specification criteria and am the named inventor in multiple patents, including the original Contour POV camera patent with highlighted features of laser alignment, rotating lens assembly, and “Instant-On” recording.
