Functioned as an object-oriented application developer using Java and C#. Wrote N-tiered ASP.NET application to enable customers to request services through the Internet. Web Server resided in networks DMZ to present interface to clients and communicates with servers protected behind a firewall through .NET Remoting and XML Web Services for implementation of business functions. Accessed DB2 database on AS/400 from back end server using ADO.NET and SQL stored procedures. Developed applications in C# using Visual Studio .NET and in Java using WebSphere Application Developer. Diagrammed applications using UML. Also, developed collaborations in IBM InterChange Server for a customer service application. Assisted in implementation of Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest and RequisitePro. Served as a Java developer for the Information Technology development department of a utility company. Overhauled system for letter generation using Java Servlets, JSP, and JDBC. Copied letter data from legacy system to Tomcat web server in XML format. Enabled customer service representatives to view letters by translating data to HTML using XSL Stylesheets. For printing, translated letter data to XSL-FO, and then converted to PDF format before letter is relayed to the appropriate printer. User interface allowed searching for desired letter by specifying certain filterable properties. Developed application for automatically generating report card of real-time company metrics. Application also allowed users to view historical report cards. Used XML to store report card data and XSLT to display the data as HTML in WebSphere Application Server. Created dynamically generated forms, validated with JavaScript, to allow data representatives to enter operating parameter data manually. Mentored co-workers making transition to object-oriented programming from procedural programming by giving examples and answering questions.

Performed as a Java developer on a general-purpose framework for interactive Java applications and a distributed web application. Tasks included database development using MySQL, XML, and JDBC. Developed web application using HTML, JSP, Servlets, and XML. Performed XML transformations using XSLT. Engineered a facility, using Jini technology, for finding and running Jini services either on a local network or a specific host machine. Enabled users to browse Jini services through a Swing graphical user interface to view pertinent information regarding the service and to execute the service.

Worked as a Java Programmer and a Test Engineer on a XML and a web development project. Tasks included identifying, analyzing, assigning and resolving defects in Java code, building releases, and writing Java code to convert test data stored in Microsoft Access into XML documents. Simplified builds by writing Unix shell scripts. Developed a test tool, written in Java, to test the Servlets of a web application. Documented the development, test architectures and procedures for using them. Used WebSphere application server to develop Java Servlets and Java Server Pages.
