From 2009 onwards, I have focused on celiac disease, particularly type I EATL, lethal NK-cell like lymphomas arising in treatment-resistant (refractory) celiac disease. I supervised 2 PhD students who identified and characterised the cell type from which such lymphomas originate, and 2 technicians who discovered multiple inflammatory cytokines promoting lymphoma growth, thus identifying potential therapeutic targets sensitive to small-molecule inhibitors.
