Primarily based in Hong Kong, I was CIO and COO of Manulife Asia, and a member of the Asia Executive and Global Services Executive within the Manulife Group, where I led and helped forge a strong foundation by driving a sustainable business operating ecosystem, supporting transformation, delivery of customer-first solutions and experiences which embraced technology, operations and digital innovation. In my tenure, I oversaw the launch of several notable implementations across various Asian markets which included the launch and rollout of Agile transformation; Planview Portfolio Management; M365 to more than 10,000 employees; multi-million dollar efficiency improvements via operations and procurement excellence, and significant performance improvement in operational risk, security management and compliance. As a passionate individual, my dynamic leadership approach allowed me to lead and nurture my teams to achieve rapid acceleration of technology and digital achievements through the successful execution and delivery of a market-leading Bancassurance platform with DBS Bank (Singapore, Indonesia & Hong Kong); groundbreaking Manulife Move (Hong Kong, Philippines and China); fresh and innovative Manulife Gradmaker (Philippines); introducing WeChat Claims and Sales experience (China); introduction of the Automated Underwriting capability, and the launch of the 'e2e' ePOS Platform capability for Manulife Agents across various Asian markets.
As both CIO (Emerging Markets) and COO (Latin America), I was part of the QBE Emerging Markets Executive team, where my remit included an extensive portfolio comprising of an executive matrix responsibility for more than 1500 resources across the multiple regions (23 countries in total); executive stakeholders and management of acquisition integration within the regions; management oversight of the development and embedding of the regions IT & Operations Strategy, Digital & Architecture approach, and the regional executive representation for global performance and transformation improvement initiatives within the QBE organisation. My leadership at QBE was further channeled by delivering several extraordinary technology and operations transformation, and this included pioneering the design and release of the Asia markets' no.1 commercial insurance platform (Qnect) that delivers end-to-end digital capabilities and transactional experience for QBE's intermediaries and policyholders. I also led and oversaw the delivery of a world-class underwriting workbench within the Asia region which now allows internal QBE staff to have an internal digital and interactive STP experience to provide differentiated and world-class servicing for intermediaries and customers, and the successful completion of the acquisition and integration of Hang Seng's General Insurance business into QBE. An extremely complex integration was successfully implemented and allowed the foundation for a fast growing and profitable bancassurance business for QBE Asia business
