I worked under Dr. Krishnamurthy at UAB. Our lab focused on improving cardiac repair outcomes utilizing immune cells and micro-RNA in conjunction with established treatment. My work focuses on describing the role of microRNAs in regulating macrophage and cardiac biology and function under cardiac injury and repair, along with exploring theraputic RNAs to prevent cardiac damage following chemotherapy treatment.
I worked with Dr Laura Reed to study genetic interactions under environmental stress. We study the effects of the interaction of diet and genetics on weight gain, to gain a better understanding of metabolic syndrome and diabetes.
I worked as a field nomad, operating throughout the southeast. I had to design my routes, carry out my objectives, create correct chemical mixtures, and ensure a quality job was done.
Served as a student teacher to 4th and fifth graders, instructing the class in basic German. Taught 4 classes a week, for nine weeks.
