Jon Christensen's past jobs
Global Recruiting Leader, Alexa Data Services Nov 2016- Luxembourg, LU I was asked to take on the hiring for ADS across the globe, building a team and processes from scratch. With operations across 10 locations and 9 countries, I am responsible for developing the strategy to hit the hiring targets in each location. To do this, I lead in-country recruiting teams in the Americas and the EU in driving prioritization and global delivery for this high volume hiring group. Recruiting Manager, Amazon Devices EMEA Tech Dec 2015-Nov 2016 Luxembourg, LU With the growth of Amazon Devices (Fire TV, Alexa, Fire Tablets, Dash, Kindle eReaders), I was asked to lead all the tech recruiting for Amazon Devices EU, with tech operations in 5 countries. Built the recruiting team from 4 to 14. Under the umbrella of the tech groups, my team was responsible for hiring for Alexa Data Services, which provides data and services for the Alexa product line. When I took on this group, the team was woefully behind their hiring targets. I put processes in place, which resulted in exceeding hiring targets within 9 months. Overall, my team delivered around 500 hires in 2016. Recruiting Manager, Kindle EU Jun 2013-Dec 2015 Luxembourg, LU Took on the Recruiting leadership for Kindle EU, focused on delivering tech and non tech talent across 9 EU countries. Grew the recruiting team from 4 to 10 people who were responsible for full time, contract and university hiring. Developed reporting (which didn’t exist when I took on the team), which led the team to know where to focus. This resulted in focusing on Time To Hire in specific countries, the recruiting channels we focused on and the overall candidate experience. Overall, my team was responsible for delivering around 200 hires per year. Led the drive across all the Amazon EU Corp recruiting teams to implement recruiting training to train newly hired recruiters and to develop the recruiters in the EU.
Recruiting Manager, Retail Systems May 2010-Jun 2013 Seattle, US I built a small recruiting team of 5 people located throughout the US and 2 in India to meet the recruiting demands of the Retail Systems organization. Developed comprehensive reporting, which enable recruiting and the business to track metrics and make critical decisions based on those metrics. I led a company-wide initiative to standardize the process for event recruiting for SDEs. Oversaw the recruiting for the expansion of our photo studios, including the signature photo studio for Amazon in New York. From the recruiting side, led the drive to build the Amazon Dev Center in New York. Overall my team was responsible for about 150 hires/year.
