- Working on 10 oversea programs & various domestic programs on CRFMs, RFMs, Condensers as system engineer includes front end airflow design/development thru PTC system simulation, CRFM air-bench tests and wind tunnel tests, validations, confirmation and customer contact thru APQP, PDP and GMW specifications. - Co-Working on Japan programs with Delphi-Japan, Delphi-India team as customer contact engineer role includes technical presentations. - Co-Working on GM Delta program (B segment) with Delphi Europe team for global Application (Korea, Europe, NA, China, SA market) as Project Manager of Korea, which includes managing of develop schedules, design reviews and product validations per GMW spec. - Doing an activities as expert committeeman of SAREK(The Society of Air-conditioning & Refrigerating Engineers of Korea) and Published article of “Develop Procedure of Vehicle Air-Conditioning & Engine Cooling System” to SAREK Journal, Sep.’14 and introduced “Vehicle Thermal System – HVAC & PTC” as keynote at 8th SAREK Conference Mar.'14.
- Co-developed Toyota Tacoma CRFM by simulation, wind tunnel tests and benchmarking activities and Provided technical support for Honda HVAC development. - Learned how to develop the PTC & HVAC system through PDP procedure includes PTC & AC System simulation, HEX simulations and build co-working skill with NA engineers for global programs. - It was valuable experience to understand USA culture for me and my family
- Designed/Developed Kdac’s first generation engine-cooling-fan and Applied to GMK programs. (Achieved cost innovation by sourcing cost competitive motor directly instead of importing engine cooling fan assembly from Tier-2), which developed through many activities of patent map/analysis, benchmarking, parametric analysis, CFD analysis, building mockup sample, proto sample, installing air-test-machine and airflow test. - Developed Rapid-Design-Tool-ver1 linked with CAD, CFD-turbo machine & blade design code, which run automatically in single computer by click to get performance result for each fan design ; It’s purpose to find the best design efficiently among many design candidates, as procedure from generating blade points cloud, blade modeling by CAD, transfer the CAD data to build mesh in CFD program, running CFD and then showing performance results. More fan portfolio has been developing from 80W grade to 400Wooling fan application.
- Developed & applied the first Bosch fan technology as CRFM base to GMK J200, V200 Diesel engine programs and the first Denso fan technology as CRFM base to GMK C100(Mid SUV) including Shroud development. - Developed & applied the first PWM speed control & Siemens fan technology to SYMC D & Y series programs(Large SUV) with Siemens-Canada, which was very good opportunity to get lessons learned on NVH management, EMC design and various validations. - Introduction of Delphi engineering tools – CAE Tools for HVAC airflow design(Flowmaster) and HEX simulations for radiator, condenser, etc.
- Designed and Developed Kdac owned brand new compact condenser including benchmarking, patent mapping, FEA, mockup sample, design valiation, feasibility study on the manufacturing line, quality check, etc ; 16mm depth condenser with new fin design and manifold design developed from 20mm depth condenser over the market, Fully validated through component level durability test and vehicle level durability test, applied the new compact condenser successfully to GMK/SYMC programs, which contributed to company as huge cost saving. - Designed and Developed Kdac owned bland new Sub-cooled condenser including all activites as above for developing new product and Fully validated through component/system level durability test and vehicle level durability test, applied the new sub-cooled condenser successfully to domestic/oversea's programs, which contributed to customers as Kdac's advanced technology capability - Developed various new tube design, louvered fin design and new concept of manifold design to enhance more performance and lower weight design with various patents. - Published technical paper to company technology journal regarding to AC system with sub-cooled condenser and reviewing of experimental data.
