Reporting to Nine's Social Media Manager, as a Social Media Producer I interact with the Nine Network's online audience, providing the latest news content, engagement and programming information
I was first accepted as an intern to undertake a range of editing and writing tasks to assist in all aspects of a magazine publishing process. Through my enthusiasm to successfully complete all tasks, I was offered a part-time position as a travel journalist. This is where I made regular contributions towards their website and print publications as well as represent the company at a range of industry functions, events and travel opportunities. I was also responsible for large portion of Travel Weekly’s social media posting across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. In recognition of my enthusiasm and contribution my internship was extended until the conclusion of 2014.Through my engagement at Travel Weekly Australia my journalistic abilities were significantly strengthened as I had to write for varying demographics, meet deadlines and work in a team environment. Achievements: 1.Published a total of 130 articles online 2.Published articles in the Voyager, Travel Weekly and ‘Supplement’ magazines. 3.Was sent on assignment aboard the Carnival Legend and Royal Caribbean Voyager of The Seas cruise ships 4.Was sent to Silk Pavilions in Northern NSW by Glamping Hub.
Interned at Dockside Group where I worked in the advertising department of the company based in Sydney. I was in charge of running media campaigns, posting on all social media platforms, running blogs, writing articles and interacting with each venue. Achievements: 1.Responsible for maintaining Dockside Groups event related blogs which included the Sydney Writers’ Festival and Vivid Light Festival blogs.
Worked for Tracks surfing magazine for several weeks through work experience where I got my first taste of print publication journalism. As part of my training I was asked to edit articles, file magazines, post on social media and work closely with all members of the team. Through my eagerness I was granted the opportunity to interview Taylor Steele at Fox Studios and was later published in Tracks magazine. Being published in my first magazine at the age of 15 was an amazing experience for me which drastically shaped what I wanted to pursue as a career. Through Tracks I was taught how to construct an article, work in a print publication team and meet deadlines.
