The journey began back in May of 1974. Making a fair amount of money cutting lawns at age 14, I decided to buy my first mutual fund.That's when the excitement started with being involved in the stock market. Fortunately through college and my early 20’s I continued to make enough money to keep investing; I became just fascinated by the market. Leaving healthcare in 1988 I decided to move to the financial industry because investing became my passion. I first cut my teeth at a national firm, then in the early ‘90’s on to a few boutique firms specializing in not only stocks, bonds, and mutual funds but also "alternative" non-correlated strategies. I was also involved not only as an Advisor building my clientele but also as a manager running a brokerage floor with 20 brokers. Having seen many different firms and styles of portfolio construction, I was introduced to H. Beck, Inc. in 1995. As I continued to research and learn the more academic side to investing, it became my desire to truly set myself apart from the herd of advisors that constructed very basic and typical portfolios. It was at H. Beck, Inc. that I found the access I needed to have the ability to construct far more sophisticated and academically based portfolios for my clients.
