As the head of the Software Development group at Ryanair's Labs Madrid - the largest department in one of the company's main tech hubs - I wear many hats. My role combines people, department, project, and technology management, making every day a thrilling and dynamic experience. - I lead a team of over 50 software engineers, many of whom are senior-level experts in Java, iOS, Front, DevOps, and .NET technologies, that includes managing career plans, conducting one2ones and performance reviews, managing HC and budget. - I pivoted our team to a 2/3 WFH model including a full distributed model for some positions, - I am responsible for defining and executing recruitment processes, office promotions, and market reports. - I run cross-team guilds and other initiatives inside and outside Labs Madrid - I am involved on technical strategy and design, reviewing and trying to contribute to teams proposal, with special focus in scalability and cost control. - I maintain relationships with AWS and other vendors - I contribute to creating and managing multi-chapter teams. - I am involved in creating high-level roadmaps for operational and public (ryanair.com) projects, tracking the projects in which Engineers from my group are involved. - I manage reports and KPI's of team and technology performance

During my last stage at DOCOMO Digital, I was the Engineering manager on the B2B proposition of the company, leading two projects related with Digital Marketing area: - Digital Marketing Tools, allowing Telcos and Brands to boost they mobile traffic through Paid Social Media or taking advantage of first party data. - AntiFraud modules based on BigData and AI, on charge of detecting malware patterns on customer acquisition for internal and external products thanks to proprietary ML based algorithm

zendone.com was a productivity enhancement platform based on Getting Things Done methodology that integrated with Evernote and Google Calendar. It started as a personal project and became a small entrepreneurship in which I was involved as the owner of the iOS application.

Before Buongiorno was incorporated to DOCOMO Digital I had the role of Tech Lead on two teams, the first one was on charge on managing the technical needs of the UK & International region of the company, mainly focused on customer acquisition but also related with billing and content access. Second one was related with unifying all the customer acquisition flows across region. Both positions were hands-on and the main tech stack was : Spring Framework, Hibernate, Liferay, Tomcat, Apache, VMWare, F5

On charge - both in terms of technology and project management - of a short project consisting in developing a series of configurable Widgets (Social, Utilities, Financial Information) in order to be inserted in the new BBVA Intranet

Software Engineer at Platform and Tools deparment in Buongiorno offices in Madrid. The main target of the deparment is to develop, mantain and provide support of the new publishing platform to be used by the whole company. The platform is based on Liferay WCM tool that is totally customized to be used with mobile devices with UserAgent reconition and customizable rendering, specific Carrier markup, and other Buongiorno bussiness oriented features. Other technologies that we are using are Spring MVC, Spring IoC container, iBatis, Velocity and tools such as Maven2, Artifactory and Hudson

I worked in DIA% as software architect in a project called NEXDIA consisting in defining and implementing a Sofware Developement Methodology based in OpenUP and Scrum, Development and QA Environment and a Framework to ensure the quality and rapid development in internal DIA developments. NEXDIA framework is based in Spring 2.0, using namespaces and advanced artifacts to redefine a layered supercontainer. Over the container, modular services can be added. A wide range of services was implemented to fit all possible bussiness requirement. At persistence level, Hibernate, JPA and iBatis services based on Generic annotatted DAOs are available. At controller level, it's possible to use Spring MVC controllers or Spring WebFlow artifacts. Also, to develop RIA applications, GWT is available, which a library with utilities and customized components, and also with a integration with Nexdia Controller layer. The development and QA environment is based in Maven, with plugins and archetypes to generate CRUD and starting code for the projects, an Artifactory Server, and a CI environment based on Hudson and Sonar.

For three years I was member of IT Architecture group at Consultancy atSistemas. This role consisted mainly in helping our customers in different projects as Software Architect or IT Consultant, starting projects, building execution frameworks, or doing agile methodology and continuous integration consultancy. Also I was involved in company tasks such as pre-sales work, prepare specialised trainings or doing some research.

Software architect in (1) a project consisting en improve the corporative framework to support Web Services to interconnect with surrogates companies systems and (2) another project consisting in improve the Persisting Layer of the framework to support iBatis style quering. Later I worked as R&D Engineer, doing research in the adoption of different state of art approaches, such as a Enterprise Service Bus with JBI, and a Small OSGi prototype based on Apache Service Mix 4

As Chief architect my work was supervise techincal offers to customers at Industry sector, participate under request in projects and mainly work in the starred project of department, ContainerClick at RENFE Mercancias. RENFE Mercancias is the monopolistic rail operator of goods in Spain. The project target was to modernize the whole business lifecycle of the company migrating a series of applications from IBM Mainframe (COBOL/PL1) to Web platform in a distributed and Portal / ESB based Architecture. The aim of ContainerClick project was support the entire lifecycle of transportation reservation and execution lifecycle, migration for diverse mainframe applications. It was part of an integral SOA platform called SOA. The platform defined a corporative Portal (Sun Portal Server), and ESB (managed by other provider), and a backend server (Webspehre) to access DB2 in Z/OS systems. The artifact development in the project were, separately, portlets to deploy in the project, and web services to deploy in Websphere server. I was the chief architect, responsible of defining the project infraestructure, selecting the techonolgoies of the project, build the execution framework to be used in backend services. Other reponsibilities were define and setup the development and pre-integration servers, as well as the configuration of internal workspaces. A was also responsible of the integration with the external providers, the team in charge of ESB (Sun Java CAPS), or the team managing the optimization algorithm.
