The Estonian Aviation Academy, established in 1993 and managed by the Ministry of Education and Research, is the only institution of professional higher education in Estonia training aviation professionals on both the higher education and vocational levels. The Academy is located in Reola village, Kambja municipality, Tartu County, in the immediate vicinity of Tartu Airport. Estonian Aviation Academy management consists of the Rectorate, Council and Advisory Board. Additionally, the academic structure is being advised by the Curriculum Advisory Boards.

Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS) is a group of experts gathering regulatory expertise from all around the world. At present, 63 countries and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and EUROCONTROL are contributing to the development of JARUS work products. The Industry Stakeholder Body, representing all industry communities of interest, was established to allow stakeholders the opportunity to support JARUS activities. The purpose of JARUS, as stated in our Terms of Reference, is “to recommend a single set of technical, safety and operational requirements for all aspects linked to the safe operation of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). This requires review and consideration of existing regulations and other material applicable to manned aircraft, the analysis of the specific tasks linked to UAS and the drafting of material to cover the unique features of UAS”. The JARUS guidance material aims to facilitate each authority to write their own requirements and avoid duplicated efforts.

We certify Drone pilots and Operators for all fixed wing, hybrid, single and multi rotor drones in all weight categories for the grant of European Authorisations under EASA regulations. We currently hold an approval as Recognised Entity issued by the Irish Aviation Authority for the grant of Open A2 and all Specific Category Authorisations, Declarations & Light UAS operator Certificate (LUC). Unmanned Aircraft Association of Ireland was established with the aim of promoting the safe and successful integration of unmanned aircraft (drones) into Irish airspace by helping to establish the technology within Ireland and disseminating information amongst the members and the general public. The organisation is dedicated to promoting RPAS with emphasis on safety, data standards & applications but does not plan to operate as a policing body and instead will provide advice and guidance to those wishing to enter the industry at a commercial level.
