On October 1, 2022, I took over the leadership of the new Digital Solutions Cluster in Advanced Innovation, Corporate R&D. Digital Solutions builds on my previously established Innovation Cluster for Artificial Intelligence & Data Science and expands it to include additional focus areas such as IoT sensor technologies, new condition monitoring services, digital services, digital product twins and new mobility services. This is a major paradigm shift, as my focus has expanded from providing individual AI building blocks to designing and developing complete digital solutions, with AI and machine learning remaining key drivers of innovation. In the new role, I also take responsibility for the global steering of digital innovation roadmaps and strategies in collaboration with the regions and divisions, as well as steering the global digital solutions project portfolio and research budget. I am very excited to drive digital product and service innovations together with my colleagues from Schaeffler R&D across the regions and divisions! :)
