The American League Of Tutoring Organizations (ALTO) is an internationally-recognized, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to spreading affordable music education. ALTO helps high school musicians and music directors start and manage local music tutoring programs. These are programs offer consistent, long-term private music instruction to elementary and middle school students, aiming to help strengthen and revitalize school and community music programs. These programs are key to bridging gaps in musical ability, providing new opportunities for underserved students, and strengthening school and community music programs. ALTO supports these programs through consulting, resources, events, activities, funding, promotion, and non-financial contributions. ALTO has served 1,500+ participants through 20,000+ lessons taught by 400+ volunteer tutors offered by 31 programs in 12 U.S. states and 6 other countries.
