The American League Of Tutoring Organizations (ALTO) is an internationally-recognized, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to spreading affordable music education. ALTO helps high school musicians and music directors start and manage local music tutoring programs. These are programs offer consistent, long-term private music instruction to elementary and middle school students, aiming to help strengthen and revitalize school and community music programs. These programs are key to bridging gaps in musical ability, providing new opportunities for underserved students, and strengthening school and community music programs. ALTO supports these programs through consulting, resources, events, activities, funding, promotion, and non-financial contributions. ALTO has served 1,500+ participants through 20,000+ lessons taught by 400+ volunteer tutors offered by 31 programs in 12 U.S. states and 6 other countries. ALTO has been featured on MSN, NBC Sacramento (KCRA 3), CBS13, Good Day Sacramento, The Daily Democrat, Yahoo News, and more My work: - Managed 17 part-time employees and 2 contributors - Created over 300 pages of resources for our programs to use - Helped create the licensing agreements for several resources within the ALTO Model Documents - Ran 400+ hours of consultation meetings with programs - Researched and completed all government filings - Wrote the bylaws and conflict of interest policy - Managed the ALTO Grants Program and coordinated with the Second Strings refurbishment program - Pitched to and discussed with music directors from across the country - Oversaw the 32 programs and 91 Program Coordinators across the ALTO Network - Secured business sponsors and grants for the organization - Helped organize several events and publications including masterclasses, workshops, blogs, and newsletters - Secured coverage newspapers, TV stations, and magazines
