• Manage daily operations within Quality Department for two shifts – Assistant Manager, Quality Engineer, Pre-Production Specialist, two Supervisors, six Group Leaders, and approximately 45 QC Members. • Prepare monthly reports for Senior Management to report back Business Plan targets – Monthly customer complaints, PPM, internal scrap, and labor ratios • Investigate customer complaints with the support of all applicable departments, submit replies in 8D format, and track/confirm implemented countermeasures at 30/60/90 days to ensure accuracy and compliance • Utilize PDCA, 5P Problem Solving, “Why-Why Analysis”, & Fishbone 4M Methodologies while investigating internal and external quality failures • Monthly Kaizen activity to support Continuous Improvement, Scrap Reduction, and Lean Manufacturing • Prepare SAP’s to track long-term activities, projects, countermeasure implementation timing, etc. • Manage ISO requirements within QC department - Maintain ISO9000, lead activity for ISO 9001:2015 re-certification, support semi-annual external ISO Audits and Document Control • Review/Approve all PPAP’s - Ensure accuracy of all applicable documents and all customer requirements are met within PFMEA’s, Control Plans, Gauge Concepts, Quality Control Sheet/SPCS Charts, Process Capabilities, etc.
• Manage supplier quality both internally at HMIN and at suppliers during QAV’s • Perform process audits at suppliers utilizing PFMEA’s, Control Plans , Operation Standards, and all other controlled documents • Review and approved supplier countermeasures utilizing PDCA, 5P Problem Solving, “Why- Why Analysis”, & Fishbone 4M Methodologies • CBU parts analysis utilizing other HMIN departments, part drawings, scan data, measurement tools, and suppliers fixtures • Design Change Group Leader (PPAP/APQP) - Ensure all manufacturing requirements are met prior to change point approval • Supplier Quality Improvement Team Leader – Implement supplier improvement plans based off PPH items, scrap, process capabilities, preventative maintenance, etc.
• Proactively manage associates utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles to produce the highest quality vehicle with QCDMS guidelines • Coordinate area to continually ensure Quality is being achieved the first time • Countermeasure impact items in area by cycling of PDCA on the top causes of loss -- Process Efficiency Gaps, Quality Rejections, Parts Rejections, Unplanned O/T, and Line Stoppages • Coordinate manpower, process rotation and process coverage • Effective shift to shift communication and issuing of same day trouble reports for QCDMS trigger items • Coordinate and deploy all training and OJT development of associates • Understanding and enforce all Plant and Department Safety & Environmental policies and procedures
