Laetitia Van Haren's current jobs
I founded this non-profit organisation, SAHFA, to gather people around the purpose of bridging the digital divide for healthier and happier living, beginning with the most vulnerable of all, pregnant women in rural areas of developing countries. The first ICT tools to develop and field are to connect pregnant women with healthcare providers tro stop the terribly high maternal (and infant) mortality and morbidity in remote areas by removing the three deadly delays when danger arises: delay in the mother's decision to get medical help, delay in getting to the place of person who can help her, and delay in getting the care she needs once she has arrived at the medical facility, This is in a nutshell our first project, JamboMama! We have now started a first introduction and customisation of the JamboMama! app in a poor rural area. Everyday we learn more how deep the challenge runs culturally and psychologically, but some key people got it (grasped the concept for its empowering qualities) and campaign for it well. Go to www.smartaccesstohealthforall.org and www.facebook.com/smartaccesstohealthforall to learn more I continue my work with DCC Carry out pre-feasibility studies, baseline studies, mid-term and post-closure evaluations of rural development, community development, gender and child rights projects in poor communities, ethnic minorities and refugee and internally displaced settings. Monitoring and evaluation, editing, participatory assessments in rural and urban communities. As the founder president of the French NGO "Smart Access to Health for All/Accès Intelligent à la Santé pour Tous": develop ITC tools, starting with a smart App for pregnant women in isolated areas, to empower them so as to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity (and infant mortality and morbidity).
