Worked as a SDE in the Lodging org- Hotel Shopping & Hotel Booking team in Expedia which owns a High Volume Low Latency Tier 1 Distributed system that handles Hotel Shopping/Hotel Booking traffic for all of Expedia Inc's hotel searches/bookings originating from different brands My key contributions include: • Design and development of various microservices as part of migration work from a giant monolith to fast & simple set of microservices in Scala . • Worked on shipping AvailDetail Shopping API by deprecating a 10 year old legacy stack; Developed a comparison testing tool & took complete ownership of it; Determined the differences in API responses, created bug reports and worked on fixing the bugs/take care of regressions. • Worked on shipping Cancel Booking API; Designed and implemented BNOS workflow in the booking stack & took complete ownership of it;Worked with BNOS offshore team for integration testing; Implemented some of the cancellation price/cost calculation logic • Implemented No Credit Card booking feature in the shopping and booking stacks. • Worked as a Test GC being wholly responsible for testing the entire NoCC project workflow end to end spanning 10+ teams across Expedia ;Completely responsible for the rollout of the entire project in a phased manner along with the PM; Partnered and developed good working relationships with multiple teams during testing ;Identified some crucial bugs which enabled a 100 % successful & smooth rollout
Developed the Android Auto App for Audible.com from scratch under the guidance of my mentor Robert Tierney and took complete ownership of it . This was showcased in Google's I/O conference 2015 . (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=_DLhApX55ts) Responsibilities included : • Designed and built Android Auto related API's in the Audible Android App so that the App can be played in the car dashboards running Android Auto . This incorporated all the functionalities including Play, Pause, Bookmark, Forward/backward thirty seconds, Playback speed and a Play Queue • Developed a Voice search algorithm that receives a voice input (audio book name) from the driver/user and searches the library of downloaded audio books to get the best nearly matched title and starts playing it . • Wrote unit tests using JUnit, Mockito and Robolectric • Fixed bugs in the Audible Android App in the first few weeks of the internship. • Created a Product design that defined how the product would look like, the features of it and decided the placement of audio controls along with the Product Manager . • Created and organized Project stories and broke them into deliverable tasks . Crafted Milestones / deliverables for the project • Was in constant touch with Google's Android Platform Engineering Team's Engineers (Renato Mangini) and Google Developer Advocates during dev and testing phases . • Active member of the Android Auto Support Google group.

• Developed a prototype of Android App Spoof detector system that detects spoofed android apps present in the Android App stores around the world . • Performed static analysis of the Android Apps looking out for several features including name match, image match etc.. to name a few . • Summed up the individual feature scores to determine an overall rank based on heuristics in order to rank the spoofed apps in the order of precedence (worst to bad) present in the Android App Stores .
