I oversee the equities and alternatives portfolio management business, which includes the management of balanced portfolios containing fixed income assets. We focus on understanding and analysing the Nigerian capital market and the assets therein using our proprietary buy-side research and analysis to add value to the portfolio management process. I have implemented a repeatable and scalable process to identify fundamental value through first hand research beginning with top-down research.  We follow a detailed bottom up approach; studying the company’s financial position, meeting with management and understanding the company’s business model and how that compares with its industry.  Positioning sizing is influenced by a wide range of factors including liquidity and risk tolerance. o Trade execution via a number of brokers is monitored closely given the volatility in our markets to ensure best execution. o Risk management remains a key consideration, with the use of asset allocation bands as well as money market instruments as methods of minimising volatility.
