Lauren Cave's current jobs
In my current role where I am the Lead of Analytics at iosBio Ltd, where I am responsible for the development of biological and biochemical assays (including Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence and SDS-PAGE/ Western Blotting) which I then use to characterise viral vector vaccine candidates and their suitability for progression into preclinical development and Phase 1 clinical trials. From these studies I have successfully identified and facilitated progression of a viral vector candidate into the company’s development programme into a first in man clinical trial using my problem solving, data analysis (Excel and Prism) and analytical research skills. In addition, I have many years of additional laboratory experience through which I have acquired a broad range of techniques including mammalian and primary cell culture, qPCR, transfection, virus production and purification (using a CsCl density gradient) and in-vivo skills including rodent breeding (to generate transgenic animals), echocardiography and tissue dissection. I am very determined, tenacious, and passionate about scientific research and seeing research projects to the end. During my current and previous roles I have also mentored junior staff members and improved their research skills, which demonstrate my leadership and management skills; and also show that I am friendly, approachable and have exemplary communication skills. Finally, I also have accomplished presentation skills which I have developed through presentation of my data at team meetings, in addition to when I presented my research poster at a European conference during my PhD.
