Key responsibilities - Buying and owning Plus Size Trousers from strategy of the range to trading on site. - Developing product based on new trends and Best sellers, putting these into work and ordering the product in weekly supplier meetings. - Presenting in Trade weekly - Making sure Best sellers are updated in new colours and prints and making sure we take action on Slow sellers. - Completing buying trips to Leicester and China with massive budgets to spend. Placing 150 orders whilst in China for SS18. - Managing my BAA making sure all tasks are complete and helping with progression.
Assistant Buyer at Missguided starting off on Knitwear, Swimwear and Denim as a trainee and then being promoted to Assistant Buyer On the Tops department in August 2015. Taking on more of a Junior Buyer role over the past 8 months buying my own range starting off with a slogan package for Jersey Tops including License Tees to then buying Woven Tops and have recently moved departments in August 2016 working on Petite, Tall and Plus Sizes. Assisting on Petite and Plus and Buying the Tall range. Extra responsibilities include - - Developing product based on new trends and Best sellers, then building a range and presenting this back to Directors in Sign Off. - Making sure Best sellers are updated in new colours and prints and making sure we take action on Slow sellers. - Once a month going to Leicester to put developments into work for Tall and assisting my Buyer with Petite and Plus. - Managing my BAA making sure all tasks are complete and helping with progression.
Trainee buyer at Matalan for 21 months on the Ladies Knitwear department reporting directly to my Buyer I picked up a lot of Assistant Buyer roles which was excellent for my progression. My roles and responsibilities for the department where the following - - Analysing and collating all information for best and worst sales and present in Monday trading meetings to management. - Communicating everyday with suppliers via email, telephone and meetings making sure all orders run smoothly and are on time for delivery, also negotiating costs and agreeing on quantities and delivery dates. - Managing the department whilst my Buyer was out of the office on Shopping and Development Trips. - Responsible of managing the Critical Path and holding weekly meetings. - Assisting my Buyer prep for Sign Offs and making sure the room is set up with a creative edge show casing our Knitwear range. - Presenting Best and Worst and a Competitor analysis in Sign Off to Directors. - Keeping the department organised, working through Knitwear colour approvals, filing paperwork, opening/sending post and managing all samples by keeping an organised filing system.
Completed a three month Design internship in New York for DVF. I was able to see every aspect of the sample room from working with the Design team creating ideas, drawing flats, admin work and sewing up samples for them and then working with the pattern cutters. I was responsible for working to strict deadlines and completing every job to its highest standard under pressure. These jobs would include anything from creating Design ideas on the mannequin and seeing samples, through to keeping a tidy sample room.
Three month work placement for University in a Bridal Shop called Society Brides and was able to gain an insight to all aspects of the business. My roles at Society Brides - - To dress and re-style the mannequins in the shop. - Repair any Bridal wear. - Manufactured customer orders such as prom dresses and Bridal Accessories.
Christmas temp for River Island as a Retail Shop Assistant providing excellent customer service and helping styling customers and advising on new trends in store. Other roles included - - Shop floor replenishment. - Working on the cash desk. - Working on the fitting rooms.
