Léo B.'s current jobs
Under the supervision of Pr. UhiRinn Suh, I am studying W-algebras and trying to explain how these structures appear naturally from physics. More specifically, I am trying to give a physical intuition to supersymmetric W-algebras.
Léo B.'s past jobs
During the internship, I joined Pr. Masaki Oshikawa's quantum materials group at the ISSP, and studied applications of conformal field theories to the quantum Ising model. I looked at its application to the 2D model, and tried to apply its results to the 3D model, using a system defined on a fuzzy sphere. I mostly worked on numerical applications.
Under the guidance of the Pr. Yasuyuki Kawahigashi, I studied different approaches to the formalisation of 2D chiral conformal field theories. I worked on vertex algebras, local conformal fields, and ways to go from one to the other.
Designing and developing an implementation of Convex in Discord. Convex is an open technology platform for the Internet of Value
Wanting to discover the various aspects of the life of a researcher, I had a 1 week job shadowing experience with a pharmaceutical scientist at Bayer.
Curious to discover different area of research, I had a 1 week internship at Les Ateliers Humanicité, a branch of the Lille Catholic University in charge of the social research.
Already knowing I wanted to be a researcher in physics during middle school, I had in 2015 a 2 weeks job shadowing experience with a paleontology and geology lecturer and researcher in the University of Nevada. This observation internship confirmed my wish to be a teacher and a researcher later on.
