Linda Jing's past jobs
Lean On Me is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the barrier to mental health resources on university campuses by promoting campus-wide wellness. After talking to over 170 students at MIT, we built an anonymous texting platform that connects students to peer supporters. Students just text the hotline with a problem and an NLP algorithm extracts some key indicators that we use to make an optimal match based on peer counselor profile and availability. All messages are exchanged in memory, so no conversation ever hits a system hard drive. By combining our passion for technology with our deep understanding of student pain points, we've built a system that's painless, personalized, and private. We've launched our product in January 2016 and are in the process of expanding our platform to other universities. I am currently oversee the development of the organization’s legal framework. We are also recruiting right now! Check out positions at http://join.lean0n.me/. Send me a message if you're interested.
I supported the digital transformation of a global financial services institution’s core operating platform by 1) conducting due diligence on the incorporation of 110+ Operating Procedures & Policies into the new system, and 2) proposing resource requirements, developing KPIs, designing and deploying surveys to benchmark change management effectiveness.
I identified and modeled key customer segments for the new product of a health insurance company by analyzing and normalizing results of an extensive survey to the US national population. Additionally, I scoped competitors and mapped out opportunities for new healthcare technologies within a post ACA insurance ecosystem.
As an intern on the Innovations team, I was responsible for scoping new and relevant business opportunities for post accident scene analysis by evaluating consumer-grade spectrometers. I also accelerated data analysis pipelines by building a device synchronization module in Python based on dial tone signal processing. In addition to a swathe of technical skills, I also challenged 30 of my coworkers to rethink company-wide market philosophies through a TED talk discussion.
I worked on the development of a one-week curriculum for high school students in Israel on ideation, product market fit, prototyping and marketing. I then leveraged this curriculum to teach entrepreneurial thinking and strategy to over 120 students at 4 different Israeli high schools.
I worked on the development of polyketal nanoparticles as a pH-sensitive drug delivery device. I characterized various biodegradable polyketal polymers using a coulter counter and quantified drug release profiles using high performance liquid chromatography (HLPC) and microplating.
