Selected clients have included the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Wisconsin Partnership Program, School of Medicine and Public Health s Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families (Medical College of Wisconsin, the City of Racine Health Department, Madison/Dane County Public Health Department, The Salvation Army of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan and KW2 (formerly Knupp and Watson, Inc.) As the administrator of the Wisconsin African American Tobacco Prevention Network (and the Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Poverty Network, JATSC is responsible for directing, implementing and evaluating community initiatives that function to address tobacco disparities. Under Ms. Lathen s direction, these state-funded tobacco networks have effectively attracted and engaged community residents and stakeholders in its mission. Ms. Lathen has demonstrated leadership in mentoring medical and public health students, community health workers and residents. Ms. Lathen has administered studies and subsequent action plans related to menthol tobacco, single cigarettes, smoke-free public housing, and tobacco retailer density. The findings of several WAATPN and WTPPN projects have been published in peer-reviewed articles and presented at state and national conferences.
