After leaving Shooter Fund Management in 2007, I played a lead role in the start-up success and sustainable, diversified growth of an FCA-regulated investment and consulting firm, developing specialisms in bridging finance and credit broking, and developing a portfolio with $13M funds under management. Highlights included creating an accurate and compliant finance function and team from the ground up, as well as setting up a series of successful revenue streams, initially providing financial consultancy to telecoms companies. Major projects included raising $30M funding for Safari Telecom, playing a substantial role in a successful multimillion tender for MTN Group and saving clients £60M+ in procurement costs. Diversifying into bridging finance, options trading, property development and equity asset management, we generated returns for clients that consistently exceeded 18%, growing an investment portfolio to $13M AUM and building a property development team that generated $3M+ in profit. We set up successful lean, efficient finance and operations, driven by cost-conscious, scalable outsourcing strategies and rigorous compliance with all regulatory criteria.
