There's no place like home. Part of my vision for Aloma Homecare is to give seniors/those with disability the option to live independently in the comfort of their own homes and experience the richness of life. My journey to Homecare began the day my big brother received his double kidney and pancreas transplant. He was blind, partially deaf, multiple strokes and a decade long dialysis patient. The previous winter, I had successfully convinced him to get on the transplant list but was honestly ill-prepared for the new reality his new lease on life meant for him and me. I was a full-time retail pharmacist AND there were the appointments, hospitalizations, re-hospitalizations, vitals, temp logs, medication reminder, physical therapy, occupational therapy, bathing, dressing, transportation, food preparation, just to name a few. That experience allowed me to see things through my client families’ eyes. The load can be heavy. As a Certified Senior Care Manager AND licensed pharmacist, I value the relationships with my clients and their family. In fact, they are my family. Like my brother, I am their eyes and ears.
