As a commodity lead buyer, I am responsible for tactical purchasing and strategic sourcing of hydraulic components for our JCB backhoe loader, excavators and machinery. While strongly engaging our incumbent supplier relationships, I am also responsible to develop the global commodity purchasing strategy in my area for the whole JCB group internationally. Managing the annual purchasing spend of more than £30 milllion.
Responsible for the Strategic Sourcing, Tactical Buying, RFQ and RFI of Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), parking sensors, radars and advanced cruise control system for next generation vehicles. Become a commodity lead within the purchasing function and responsible for £50 million per year in automotive electronics.
We are now in the era of green consciousness to preserve our limited resources while still hunger for rapid technology advancement. My career objective is to help my organisation to develop a competitive green supply chain strategy so that our supply chain and all the stakeholders are profitable in a sustainable environment. My 3-year career and personal goal is participating in Europe Supply Chain Excellence Awards and finger cross, to win it. I have also worked closely with the Supply Chain Experts in University of Cambridge to benchmark our supply chain redeployment and strengthen the risk mitigation strategy for Harvard's supply chain.
I was responsible to formulate competitive supply chain strategy by reducing the cost of procurement while maintaining and even enhancing the product quality and variety. Our organisation has gone through the deep recession and now the business is blooming. I am glad that I have left this organisation with delegating my successor to continuously enhance my preset strategy.
As a samples and literature coordinator in B.Braun Medical (UK) Ltd (2004 – 2006), I have initiated a review of the literature area, proposed change and improvements to current process, ultimately provided the optimum service to both internal/external customers.
