Combining project management and practical laboratory skills for research programmes in the areas of diabetes, cardiovascular health and ageing. My research covers idea generation & exploitation, in vitro model design & implementation, academic external collaboration, IP protection and clinical trial evaluation. I currently have a particular interest in diabetes, the role of the micro-circulation in ageing, intestinal uptake of dietary sugars and the evaluation & incorporation of new laboratory technologies. Key Skills: - Creation & optimisation of complex in vitro cell models / bioassays. - Integrating relevant new technology & techniques to drive scientific projects. - Development of novel projects from the idea phase through to business delivery. - Scientific ownership of human clinical studies. - Translating the in vivo relevance of proteomic & genomic data sets. - Troubleshooting of technical and project related problems. - Identifying routes of IP protection including patent generation & prior art searching.
