Since 1976, the study of the Revolutionary War has included mostly Northern women, for us, like Molly Pitcher. Beginning in 2008, the foundation started working with the American Revolutionary War Living History Center (ARWLHC), The United States Presidential Service Center (USPSC), and The Scotch-Irish Victory Center. Since then, numerous paintings have been commissioned of famed local women who worked in the Revolutionary War from Charlestowne to Charlottetown and from Savannah to Elizabethton, TN (then North Carolina at Sycamore Shoals. The women studied with Lenoir Rhyne University and the Charlotte Museum of History, which led to a Women at War Trail proposal of colonial Rosie the Riveters. We expect our work to accelerate as more books are published and more paintings are released, like those oil paintings of Mary Patton (the first in American history), Susannah Twitty (oil) (first-ever), Sally New River, and other American Indian women (ai) and Mammy Kate (who saved Governor Stephen Heard's life during the war after the local battle of Kettle Creek). Our medals programs and awards continue to grow strongly with keynote speeches, presentations, and educational gatherings.
