CleanPath is the latest Matt Cheney founded enterprise that expertly manages capital intensive late-stage renewable energy project development, execution, financing, otherwise servicing the rapidly growing in demand for clean energy and related products & services. In addition, CleanPath deploys emerging clean or energy efficient technologies, including storage, and control systems into fields of proven technologies, serving to help "commercialize" those new technologies. Currently, as a result of the sale of it's $800 MM renewable energy project development vehicle (CleanPath Venture Fund No. 1) in 2013 to an Asian Multi-national, CleanPath is focusing on (and investing in) the full automation of its commercial and investment platform processes, forcing controls and related reductions in its operating and transaction costs. Innovations such as these lead to enhanced reach and higher volumes of transactions, driven by operational efficiencies and lower costs. CleanPath is also promoting "community or shared" renewables solutions, typically using the "virtual net metering (VNM)" method of managing "offset credits" that serve to offset a generation bill from a local utility. This approach is present in Senate Bill 43 "Enhanced Community Renewables" that was passed in California in 2014. CleanPath Ventures, worked closely with California State Legislators to formulate and pass that measure. To CleanPath, SB 43 represents an beneficial expansion of another measure signed into law in 2002, that resulted in CleanPath owning and operating the first VNM program in the U.S. (PVUSA), if not the world. PVUSA has operated seamlessly since in 2002. CleanPath is striving to expand the use of VNM in the U.S. and abroad and is open to partnerships. Finally, CleanPath is continuing to manage transactions, including organizing and aggregating investor capital to high profitability project investments, while providing advisory services to selected partners.
