I manage the web and graphics teams at the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI). My responsibilities include marketing activities, visual standards, and web operations. Marketing activities focus on content development for our web properties, generating site traffic, and development of social media strategies. Visual standards include defining and coordinating style guidelines for various JCVI brands, logo design, and all visual treatments used to identify JCVI in electronic and print media. My team is also heavily involved with building and maintaining Institute web properties where we coordinate web standards with many decentralized teams of web developers and bioinformaticians across the Institute. JCVI is a premiere basic science research organization made up of a diverse body of researchers focused on human health and environmental sustainability through the science of genomics.

As a consultant, I worked onsite for numerous clients, including C-SPAN, PriceWaterhouse, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Rainmaker, Board of Governors for the Federal Reserve, American College of Cardiology, Weber & Associates, Globalink, E. James White, Soza International, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Highlights include: - Launched new web site while at C-SPAN, www.BookTV.org. It serves as a complement to programming on the C-SPAN2 network. Also contributed to the main site, www.C-SPAN.org. - Contributor in advertising campaigns for National Geographic and the U.S. Postal Service. I was responsible for reformatting advertisements across a variety of media, such as bus banners, posters, and magazines. - Designed numerous proposals and presentations while at PriceWaterhouse and other organizations.
- Managed and designed Ping Magazine, a 28-page color newsprint publication dealing with computers and pop culture. Responsible for coordinating/developing advertising, copy length, and managed in-house illustrator to produce cover art and drawings for the magazine. - Designed and maintained various web pages, including real estate listings, and an online version of Ping Magazine. Developed product concept art such as a 3D animation of an Internet kiosk, product packaging, and company branding.
