Matthieu Koroma's current jobs
I am a PhD student in Neuroscience at the Laboratoire de Sciences Cognitives (Ecole Normale Supérieure, PSL Research University), under the direction of Sid Kouider (PhD). My PhD project focuses on the relationship between sensory disconnection and cognitive activities during sleep. Sensory disconnection is not fully achieved during sleep and interacts with the brain endogenous activity : for exemple, some words can be integrated in our dreams and playing some stimuli can selectively bias our learning. While the disconnection of the sleeper is traditionally viewed as a limit on experimental investigation, we consider the selective filtering of information according to the brain's endogenous activity as a tool to understand the type of cognitive activity present in sleep. We technically rely on EEG markers of the processing of sensory information to reveal the ongoing cognitive processes of sleep in healthy humans and how these relate to cognitive functions of sleep such as memory consolidation.
