Quidd is a Sequoia Capital-backed, Animoca Brands-acquired startup that operates a marketplace for buying and selling limited-edition virtual assets (aka digital collectibles and NFTs). Our mission is to change the way that people collect. Like paper money being replaced by electronic payments and online banking, the company is ushering in the digitization of collecting, owning, and exchanging fine art, memorabilia, and collectibles. Co-founded, capitalized, scaled, and sold technology startup; issued over 2.1B individually-serialized items with 50K high-value items worth over $12M and growing. Investors include Sequoia Capital (Series A round) and executives from Warburg Pincus, Take-Two Interactive, and Snap Inc. (Seed round + advising). Lead corporate strategy and development, raising $20M through convertible note and priced equity rounds; managed investor relations, pitching, structuring and negotiation, due diligence, legal and tax matters, post-close board management, corporate governance, and M&A. Oversaw the development of innovative marketplace, ledger, and payments technology, including valuation models (sales history, clustering), price discovery mechanisms (information flow, liquidity), buyer/seller matching (collaborative & content filtering), generating a listing conversion rate of 48% and over 6 transactions per second. Established strategic partnerships with major media and CPG companies, bringing over 300 world-class brands, including Disney, Marvel, HBO, FOX, Sony, CBS, and more, to Quidd's 7M digital collectors; generated multi-millions in remittances. Privileged to lead and serve a team of 45+ employees, including executive leadership team. Currently working on transforming Quidd's virtual items into investment-grade assets, providing real-world liquidity through fiat and crypto payment gateways; growing expertise in Reg-A, Reg-A+, RegCF, RegD, KYC, AML, fraud detection, money transmitter, 1099, and more.
