During my brief contract at Our Lady of the Lake University I was called in to build up and correct issues with the customers Microsoft Exchange 2010 infrastructure and get the ball rolling along. Also part of the project was to install and configure a new Microsoft Forefront 2010 TMG installation as to protect the Exchange servers from the outside world by utilizing reverse proxy authentication. The project was a success and the customer is now running Exchange 2010 through their campus.
During my 2 year contract with WellMed I was responsible for the consolidation efforts of servers in to a HA “High Available” VM-WARE ESX cluster. Additionally, I worked on several large scale projects over these two years that were to reduce server costs, and maximize performance along with improve the reliability of data storage with the introduction of a SAN with 180 Terabytes. Over the course of those two years, I was successful in increased the stability of servers, better securing them with group policy and other security changes which were requested by the organization. Deployed and managed Orion Solarwinds so that the organization become more proactive on server monitoring so that the organization could reduce server outages caused by hardware failures. During my contract term I was responsible for the southwest region of the country for all server hardware and software platforms for Pacific Care and Secure Horizons. On this contract I was responsible for over 500 servers enterprise wide with a customer base of well over 15,000 users. Also managed and deployed the first southwest Compaq SAN to the orginization with an estimated 75 terabytes of information to be consolidated to this new SAN.
