As President and founder of Gray Capital Management, I wore many hats to ensure operations ran efficiently for this investment firm that specialized in managing high-grade taxable fixed income assets for HNW individuals and institutional clients. However, my primary focus was on the prudent management of portfolios (combined AUM of $250+ million), where I succeeded in consistently delivering strong performances despite market volatility with gross returns since inception, outperforming the Bloomberg Barclays US Aggregate Bond Index. This was achieved by: Originating and implementing investment strategies through duration/yield curve, sector allocation, security selection, and trading in relation to portfolio performance index and current fixed income policy. Performing credit analysis and research Instituting buy and/or sell decisions Providing market trend/economic and security class analysis Actively managing portfolio positioning, assessing relative value, and monitoring returns to determine results versus investment strategy and appropriateness given changing bond markets and client objectives. Ensuring fiduciary responsibilities and compliance with all investment policy and regulatory guidelines. Facilitating periodic client meetings to evaluate performance/strategy and reporting, etc.
