• Petrophysical curve editing, producing QC’d spliced curve sets for both exploration geologists and petrophysicists. • Data mining, data capture, loading and QC of required attributes for well header and numerous subsurface data types including, log curves, check shot, deviation surveys, casing, core intervals, test data, picks etc. • Collaboration with Geodetic specialists for capture and quality assurance of all well positional data, including surface co-ordinates, deviation surveys and bottom hole positions • Development of ad-hoc database solutions to assist with the rationalisation of large and complex datasets • File storage/loading/sharing among many key programs i.e. RECALL and OpenWorks, Geolog and Petrel • Developing ArcGIS solutions to allow the user community easier access to the corporate data store and to view the progress of the data clean-up • Communication with onsite client staff, notably Team Geologists and other Data Management professionals • Team Member of the Quality Improvement Project (QIP) within Shell International, SIEP, Netherlands • Training of new staff members in curve joining and log QC
Main duties involved collecting, collating, inputting and interpreting geological cuttings from the well bore. • Analysing cuttings calcimetery and hydrocarbon shows • Working alongside Lead Geologist to construct interpreted logs in real time • Real time/LWD data and sample acquisition • Inputting data into “Insite”, Halliburton’s own data management system • Drilling and gas data management and communicating these values to team members and senior members of the rig • Using Insite systems, working closely with wellsite geologists and drillers • Working as part of a small team often to completion of well or log • Working with data engineers helping to maintain well information and integrity
