As a member of a newly founded BEST group I was watching its development on the local level as well as in the international ranks of the organization. I helped us get from a fresh Observer Group in Board of European Students of Technology to the third (and last) level of membership which is being a Full Member in only 2 years. I was a Treasurer in the local board for 2 years (which is indicated below) and coordinated 2 big and several small projects. First of them was BEC - BEST Engineering Competition - a contest for the students of our university (around 250 of them participated), divided into 2 local levels (elimination test and local final). The goal of the student teams was to construct a time measurement device using random materials (planks, string, nails, balloons, tape, etc.) and without using a watch. It was the first edition at our university. I had an opportunity to manage a team of 5 people. Second project was an academic Summer Course for international students. 20 participants came to Wroclaw for 9 days during holidays and they learned about biomechanics of sports basing on martial arts. The students were provided with free accommodation and food. We organized the academic as well as the social part of the event. I had an opportunity to manage a team of 7 people.
