Michelle O Hollaren

Responsible for overseeing all on- and off-site educational programs. Cultivates partnerships and collaborations that strengthen community participation in and support of educational and creative wellness arts experiences.   Develops, administers and monitors Education departmental budget.  Sets annual goals and objectives.  Supervises and manages the Education department which includes 12 full-time staff members and 80 part-time faculty members, including the Director of Adult Education; Director of Youth, Teen & Teacher Programs; and the Director of Outreach Programs. Provides feedback, evaluations, and training.  Oversees consistent performance evaluations of all Education programming based on desired outcomes.  Develop and enforce policies pertaining to the operation of programs.  Assists Development department with grant writing, reporting, and specific development initiatives. Reports program outcomes to the Board of Directors.  Assists Marketing department in the marketing of programs.  Serves on the Art Center’s Leadership team, which directs and implements the organization’s strategic planning and goals.  Monitors community needs and emerging trends/technologies in arts education, and works with program directors to develop and deploy programs, tools, and technology that serve those needs and community interests within the mission and capacity of the organization.  Seeks out new or underserved audiences in the community. Works with Education team to develop mission-appropriate programming to serve those audiences. Initiates collaborative programming with other visual and performing arts organizations, educational institutions and other community groups as appropriate.  Initiated and has grown new partnerships within Indianapolis-area school districts to implement and grow teacher programming at the art center.  Started and has grown the Teen Institute advanced high school courses at the art center.
