Sally Foundation (sallyfoundation.org.au)is a private charity established by Mike and his wife Geraldine. Sally undertakes projects in Regional Australia by assisting young people to overcome the twin disadvantage of remoteness and less opportunities and in Zimbabwe to create sustainable communities in disadvantaged areas. Sally operates by forming partnerships with locally based organizations. In Australia Sally supports the ABC Heywire Program in partnership with Foundation For Regional Rural & Renew ("FRRR") who they also partner with to support the Innovation For Community Impact Programme in regional NSW. Sally has established a regional Australian focus in Orange NSW wheres it supports Canobolas Rural Technology High School implement its Big Picture Academy to assist teenagers struggling with traditional school programmes. Sally has also established the Sally Foundation Small Grants (Orange) programme starting in September 2016. In Zimbabwe Sally partners with Global Development Group of Australia and Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust ("ZDDT") and has four projects in Bulawayo. These are community based Nutritional Garden where members both consume a portion of produce but also sell around 30% to fund school fees and utility bills. The projects are established to be self sustaining. They drive employment, a sustained increase in living standards, a vibrant community and overall step change in the health and well being of not only the project members but the indirect beneficiaries and wider community.
