Built a team of 320 plus multi-disciplinary / specialized technical workforce for various Adobe products. The team was responsible for Data Science and Analytics (Big data), licensing, internationalization, installer, updater, provisioning, subscriptions technologies, user experience, enterprise tools, worldwide beta test programs and help technology. Have been a part of organizational transition from perpetual desktop products to SaaS world of subscriptions with cloud integration.
Handled a team to deliver core technologies and services for different Adobe products. Joined as a Senior Engg. Manager of a small team (< 20) and grew it multi-folds over the years earning multiple promotions thru' the journey.
Built and directed a team of 75 people consisting of PMs, TLs and software engineers. My teams worked on future cellular phones critical to the success of PCS, Motorola, USA. The projects were in the areas of color user interface layer for video capture, playback, still images, graphics, dialogs, formatters etc. for 3G, 2.5G, iDEN phones of Motorola. After the successful spell in 3G phone s/w development, grew the testing unit (for 3G, 2.5G phones) of Motorola, Hyderabad.
Ran the New Delhi office for a mobile middleware product of a Silicon valley startup, as Head of Software Services (Asia Pacific). Major responsibility was to build a software development team from scratch.
Built the mCommerce group from ground up. Created technology white papers, business and revenue plans. Trained marketing teams in HCL America offices on mCommerce, WAP etc. Visited and evaluated a startup company Hiugo, in Milan, Italy for direct investment from my organization.
Developed a mobile/handheld based product (Mail on the Run!) from conception to customer support. It was a TCP/IP based client server app with POP, SMTP, ODBC capability that worked over wireless (packet data) and wireline networks. Ran a business unit for telecom and delivered projects (software services) for companies like Sprint, Harris Corporation, Itronix etc. Developed two major components of Graphical User Interface (GUI), namely Bridge Performance Graphics and Legend of LAN Network Manager 1.1 at IBM.
Developed the communication interface for a UNIX based control station residing over an optical fibre highway of real time distributed process control system MAX-1 (a Leeds & Northrup product, a General Signal company). Designed and developed real time application software for data loggers and designed PC based intrinsically safe, distributed data monitoring and control system.
Joined the compilers group and developed an API set for linking C and COBOL programs. Implemented in C on Olympia-32 running XENIX. Development of diagnostic procedures for COBOL compiler, primarily to test the COBOL-UNIFY link.
