I am completely responsible for designing both Wovens and Occasions for monthly design CPA and press collections. As a line manager I am responsible for the Wovens & Occasion team. Wovens & Occasion is the single biggest department at Warehouse, and in terms of sales it consistently overperformed, regularly exceeding targets by large margins. I report directly to the design director and I work very closely with the buying team. • Trend presentation to the design director & buyers. • Supporting and delegating work to junior members by giving very clear guidance on a daily basis. • Researching and preparing thoroughly for monthly ingredients meetings. -Presenting all ideas, tears, sketches and fabrics to the design director & buyers. -Ensuring all stories, key shapes & prints, as well as move-ons for best sellers, are covered. -Continually driving excitement & new ideas throughout the range. • Responsible for instigating development of my designs from initial sketches through to detailed sketches, draping, artwork and print direction. • Creating specs with precise descriptions including technical drawings, measurements, fabrics, colours, and print information. • Attending supplier appointments to source new fabrics and trims and tracking product development. • Full participation in fit sessions. • Attending work trips to China, Turkey, Hong Kong, Korea, India and Vietnam. • Attending fabric fairs in Paris, London and Shanghai. • Attending meetings – weekly sales overview, range building, trend overview, product sign off.
