Working alongside an in-house design team to create design concepts through to fully engineered, manufacturable products. Includes CAD development, 3D visualisation and graphic design.
The role includes designing and distributing Point of Sale (POS) displays for multiple clients such as Groupe SEB (Tefal, Krups), Teoxane, Targus and Munchkin. Delivering unit designs using CAD and rendering softwares. Distribution includes packing parts of assembly ready to distribute across stores nationally. Problem-solving by liaising with colleagues and industrial companies in the development stages.
Being part of a small team of Activity Leaders organizing and implementing the activity programmes for students aged 9- 16 years of age. The job duties included managing day to day activities and organising excursions to ensure the programme runs smoothly by working closely with the Centre Manager and Bucksmore's head office.

Assisting the development team with ongoing projects. Working with various international clients on wide variety of products which included portable chargers and barbecue ovens. As a Lead Designer for a project called "Soul Inventions", I brought creative drive to projects, execute and advise design and manufacturing decisions and solutions. The product, "Solar Scroll" has now become a successful Kickstarter campaign exceeding their required goal for manufacture. Skills acquired at China 2 West include: - Quality Control - Improved skills using industry applications such as CAD software's and the Adobe creative suite. - Marketing - Communications - Networking - Project management where I also got the chance to become a supervisor for Marketing Interns.
Working in a team providing care to foreign students aged 8-18 years. This includes flexible working giving supervision. There were approximately 200 students attending camp per session and there were two sessions over the month. I worked six days a week on 24-hour call. The students came to learn English as a life changing trip to inspire to continue to practice and encourage the use of the language. My duties included leading excursions five times a week to places of interests such as London, Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick Castle etc. I was responsible for 50 children on the excursions. I also helped the students learn through interaction and group activities and encouraged them to participate in various activities. When I was not organising excursions, I would arrange sporting activities and entertainment for the students onsite for the remaining days. Students have some form of activity or excursion arranged from Monday through to Sunday.
Working with a team providing care and mentorship to homeless children aged 9-15. This included flexible working to ensure 24-hour care and close supervision recognising their difficult circumstances. There were approximately 150-200 children attending camp per session and there were 3 sessions over the summer period. This was a challenging role, giving me opportunities to meet people from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures and to strengthen my communication and problem-solving skills. I was able to contribute to the atmosphere of trust and confidence and developed positive relationships with both staff members and the children. This ensured that they had the best possible experience of the Camp and were encouraged to develop new skills. On scheduled evenings, I ran a Karate club for children who wanted to participate in a new sport, giving them opportunities for fun and learning.
