Managed the Raw Materials planning tool to ensure adequate raw materials for production continuity. Maintained constant communication with suppliers to ensure all necessary documents were in hand before the shipment arrived to avoid customs clearance delays. Organized with inspection bodies for shipment inspections to comply with Kenya regulations on imported items. Coordinated with clearing agents to have shipments cleared without extra charges. Maintained good relations with all parties involved in the operations from order to delivery of materials, including suppliers, shipping lines, forwarders, and clearing agents. Key Achievements  Negotiated shipment rates from forwarders and linked them with the supplier to organize shipment forwarding saving the organization roughly 500 dollars per container.  Reduced storage charges from an average of KES 700,000.00 to an average of 35,000.00 (95% decrease) which reduced the overall product cost by overseeing shipment dates and ensuring documents are dispatched 4 days after the shipment sails. This ensured that the documents arrived some days before the shipment arrived, hence timely clearance.  Reduced landed costs and final product costs by converting shipment terms for several shipments from CIF to FOB and negotiated for the best freight charges from forwarders. Acquired several suppliers for the same products (RM and PM) enabling the organization to compare prices and negotiate accordingly.  Increased levels of teamwork and a healthy atmosphere in the department by organizing a team-building activity which enhanced teamwork and improved interpersonal relationships among staff increasing work output by 40%.  Enrolled packaging suppliers in a weekly delivery arrangement based on actual forecasts reviewed on a monthly basis therefore reducing stock holding for packaging items by 20%.  ISO 9001:2015 Compliance.  Managing the packaging planning tool to ensure all the required packaging is available for production continuity.  Updating the packaging planning tool daily from the ERP tool to monitor the daily consumption of the packaging products.  Placing orders for all packaging material required by the 5th of every month.  Order expediting to ensure the suppliers deliver the packaging material on time. Key Achievements  Prevented high-stock outs by making recommendations to the MD and COO on the best approach by having alternative materials to use or a quick source for the same ensuring proper plans are in place to avoid any loss of sales meet sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction.  Reduced stock holding for raw material and trading items by having weekly checks on sales figures to forecast the total monthly sales. This data is used to determine shipment plans in case the sales are a bit low.  Assisted in the attainment of sales targets by preventing loss of sales due to OOS – KP by involving the suppliers to rework the real lead time for products. This ensured we got products at the right time before running out of stock.
