- Head designer for UO women’s intimates, sleepwear, swimwear, and knit tops. - Identify current trends that reflect the customer sensibilities and shop vintage and modern samples to be used for inspiration. - Collaborate with print and color teams to produce a balanced print assortment and fresh color story. - Oversee production, product development, making of tech packs, fittings, fabric sourcing, and communication with design direct vendors on a daily basis. - Research and develop seasonal seamless stitches, dye processes, printing techniques on new and core fabrications, and sustainable yarns to make new core fabrics. - Work directly with design managers and buying teams to analyze fashion and core business needs, address white spaces within the classes, review color assortment, and discuss calendar strategy to protect on time product sampling and in store delivery. - Mentor assistants and design coordinators in company culture and business acumen and set clear goals to support them in their design careers. - Revitalized buyers’ trust in the design team and directed a larger percent of the budget towards in house design in intimates and swim categories. - Within my categories, established the first successful sleep knit business, established corset bodies that have become established blocks for new styles and are known by name to our customer, grew the range or shapes and stitches within seamless, introduced own brand seamless swim and sweater swim into business, and established core volume staples within the knit tops assortment. - Participate in special projects from the design manager as needed.
