• Investigate animal related complaints, primarily involving animal bites to humans and domestic animal interactions with wildlife • Monitor confined animals to observe condition, initiate and release animals from confinement periods • Collect samples required for rabies testing, package and ship to appropriate laboratory • Assist in Lyme Disease education efforts • Act as primary resource for rabies related concerns when the primary Environmental Health Specialist is out, as well as oversee the on-call specialists as needed • Communicate effectively and work cohesively with members of the public, as well as law enforcement officers • Maintain an open line of communication with Loudoun County Animal Services
